Nature Sonnets
In this project we had to make a sonnet that involved nature. It has to be 14 lines, rhyme every other, and it has to have 10 syllables each line.
Sonnets
Sanctuary
My name is Billy and I am a trout
I like to swim around this watershed
All the bad things happening makes me doubt
Tomorrow will I be alive or dead
Downstream is a (decrepit dusty ditch)
I wish it would get better someday soon
Trash and food float around but which is which
It’s warm like the sun will I live till noon
But I suppose I will settle for less
I am hungry so I will pick a piece
This once appealing place is now a mess
The water is so repulsive I cease
I lay here in my past sanctuary dead
So cherish and care for the watershed

Reflection
After this project I now know what it takes to make a sonnet and how complicated it can be. It has a lot of complicated guidlines such as having 14 lines that each rhyme every other and also has ten sylables fo each line. I include nature in my sonnet by making it mainly about a fish in a watershed. I feel like I was pretty productive during this project becasue I got my work done quick and on time so I could have time to revise. I also stayed on track for a majority of the time becasue I made sure I was doing everything we were supose to be doing. I did get a lot of feedback from my classmates and friends. I found the feedback very useful becasue it helped me fix some things that I couldnt spot and they gave me good word suggestions. I am pretty happy about my end result because it came out how I wanted it to and also it goes along with the book I made for my other class(chemistry).
