Introduction:
Throughout high school we have been preparing for college. Now that college is getting near we are learning that there is more to it that just good grades and great extracurriculars. Having good grades and extracurriculars does give you a heads up when it comes to applications, but when you actually get into that college you will need way more than that to ultimately succeed. You will need skills, and not just your basic skills that you use for high school, but you will need skills that compliment and help you out when it comes to your area of study. For me personally, I know that I will need to grow by being independent, social skills, and communication skills. I want to focus on these specifically because I feel like these are the base skill for what I want to do, which for me is something in business. In general, it is going to be very important for everyone at high tech, that is going to college, to make sure they at least work on their study habits and make sure that they have that down because you will have to take tests and exams, which we aren't use to here.
The schools that I have been looking at are University of Advanced Technology, Northern Arizona University, and UCLA. I chose these schools because I felt like these colleges would ultimately help me in the career path that I want and the major that I want to focus on. I also chose this school because I felt like they really suit what I want in a school, not academic wise such as the class size, campus, and the freedom. I like the clubs that these schools offer and the extracurricular activities. They all have medium to small class sizes which I feel will be more personal, which I favor.

University of Advanced Technology
Tempe, Arizona
SafetyI chose UAT because I thought It really stood out to me in the fact that its like High Tech as a college. Its very relaxed and you can express yourself openly. They offer me a business technology degree, which is what I would like. The acceptance rate is 83.4% which is really high, and they do not focus on test scores.

Northern Arizona University
Flagstaff, Arizona
FitI choose NAU because it had a wide variety of clubs, majors and activities there. It does offer the degree I want as well. The acceptance rate is 77%, which is not that bad either. I could possibly meet up to what they need if I do better on my test scores.

UC Los Angeles
Los Angeles, California
ReachI chose UCLA because they have a good business school and I feel like i could do very good if I ever got in because of how good of a school it is itself. The acceptance rate is 18% which is incredibly low, but maybe if I tried earlier in high school I could have maybe gotten in.

College Fair Interview:
While I was at the college fair I talked to the representative for UAT and they really recommended this school for me because its like a "High tech school if it continued on to college", and I find that very trusting and safe for me to go to since I know what High Tech is like and I know it works for me. She also said that it doesn't really matter what your GPA or test scores are because they know that someone who might not have done good on the sat or in high school in general, they can still have a talent that they are looking for.
